Vinegaroon enclosure questions

So I just got a vinegaroon at my local exotic pet shop and I have two questions.
#1. Is this a big enough enclosure? The people at the store said yes but I just think it’s a little small. image.jpg
#2. Is it a male or a female? image.jpg
I heard you can tell by the spots on the bottom but I’m no expert
And one more thing. Is there a way to “socialize” these like ‘pedes? Mine is just kinda mean, which is fine by me, but if I can make her/him easier to hold that would be nice.

Enclosure looks to be too small. They don't require loads of room like a centipede but I'd definitely rehouse when you're able into something more roomy.

This is a pic of the underside of my female.

Thanks. Mine looks like a female. Also what’s a good substrate? I know they have to burrow and I want the very best for mine. Is moist coco fiber good?

I use moss peat just because it doesn't grow mould the same. Coco fibre will work fine. Mine hides under her cork bark and only burrows when she's in premoult.

I’ve got an isopod culture so if there is too much mold they’ll take care of it, plus my vinegaroon can eat some for snacks. Anyway I also rehoused it image.jpg
Does this look good? She’s already been excavating under the cork bark just to make more of a hide I think. She sure likes it under there though.

I have a water dish in with mine. It's a big bottle cap. Not sure if Clubber Lang uses it or not but it's there.

Oh, yeah I forgot that. I had one in the store cage but I just forgot to add one here. Is it usual for it to fill it with dirt or is mine just being annoying? Also how often should I refill the dish?

My lass fills her dish too now and again. Well not at the moment as she's buried. Just fill it up when you're in the enclosure. You could try moving it to another area. I did and it worked pretty much.

Hope the molt goes well. This is my second arachnid, my first was a Damon diadema which died because of molting problems and I’ve been nervous about stuff other than beetles since. I saw this little dude in the store and I just had to get it though. I’m still very nervous for molting though.

This will be the 2nd moult with me. She'll appear when she's ready. Looking bigger and thinner.
