Hey all,

Couple of questions for you pede experts. I just got one of these cool pedes and its huge!!! I have been told that its possibly gravid. First off, I am trying to maintain humidity at about 65-75%, is this too high/low? Second, if this thing is gravid, how long is the gestation and what are the ideal conditions for this sp. of pedeling? Hope you guys can help me out. Here is a pic of it. Man this thing is aggressive as well.

The humidity is a bit low, I would recommend 80 - 85%~

And it needs a water dish for fresh water!

1: i guess the guy who sold you this pede told you that?
cause i guess it's just a sellsmanstory (i don't know how you say that in english):? it's not because it's fat it's pregnant (look at all the beerbelly's;) )

is it a WC? (i guess it is,.. so it could be gravid,.. could also be a male  ) you'll just have to wait and see i guess

2: it's a vietnamese subspinipes by the looks of it,.. so i would also recommend a higher humidity like cottonsheep said. ;)

I already accommodated with a water dish on initial setup. Should I restrict airflow through the lid by taping most of it off? That should hold in more humidity correct? Misting 2-3 times a week for humidity. Is this enough? Thanks for the info. I dont know if it is wild caught. The guy that told me got it from someone else so who knows. I am hoping gravid is a warranted term to use in this case. We could use more of these guys.

That still is pretty big. Imagine having a ten inch animal with one hundred legs (or so) crawling over you as you sleep!
