Well, like I posted earlier my C. schioedtei "Echo" had molted, well I checked on her last night and again this morning and she hadn't moved once, so I lightly touched her leg, absolutely no response. I had to leave so I put her enclosure back on the shelf and when I came home from work I checked again, nothing, and I noticed her fangs looked wrong. So my mom and I worked and got the hide and cracked it open.

She'd never finished her molt, I only thought she had because her front legs were out, she died mid-molt, I don't know when, she was really stiff, I think I must have imagined when I thought she moved yesterday in desperation for my precious girl to not be dead.

I thought I was done crying but typing this is bringing tears back to my eyes, I'm so devistated, I'm going to bury her in the garden tomorrow. :( :( :(

I Just wish I knew what I did wrong.

Thanks. I wonder if it had something to do with her hide, if maybe it'd been to narrow for her to complete her molt. Either way, I won't be using a set up like I did for her again...

I'm so sorry for you loss, dear!! *big hug* Sweetie, you didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes things go wrong during a moult and there is not anything you could have done about it. Don't beat yourself up over it.
I know how you feel, I was destroyed when I lost my first T (a B. albopilosum sling). I eventually got over it but I never forgot it or her. It was almost 5 years ago now and I can still tell you her name, the date she died on and any other information I had on her.

so sorry for your loss.....i too am kinda worried that the burrow for my H. livivdum is too narrow to molt in....I know she molted in her last (spider built) burrow but this one was premade by me when I put together her enclosure with a t.p. roll.....

Oh Ariel, I'm very sorry about that. I know how hard it is to lose a pet, and that helpless feeling that comes with wishing you could have done something to save it.

Thanks everyone, I'm still pretty upset over the loss but i won't be giving up. I know theres probably nothing I could have done, which helps but I don't think I'll be trying with this species again for awhile.

RIP "Echo" you will be missed.
