ive just found an ad from a UK bug dealer, advertising african velvet slugs.
im pretty sure she means velvet worms (velvet slugs are aquatic, and she doesnt do aquatics)
what do you reckon?
i had a few velvet worms several years ago, but i went to africa and left them in the care of another bug person, and they all died
has anyone here any experience with them, and any tips?

sorry to bring up an old tread,... but same question here:
anyone has any tips ?,... as i might be getting some NZ species in a couple of weeks :)

low temperature (20°C),... very moist and no light,... plenty of leaf-litter and pieces of bark and stones as hidingplaces,... anything else to watch out for ?

Yes, the "slime-flinging" ;)

I've always wanted a few of the tropical species, the really large ones that tolerate higher temperatures. Never seen them offered though. :(
