Hey,
I wanted to let everyone know about my veiled chameleon information site.
Basically, I have become tired of answering the same questions over and over about these animals, so I decided to create a site dedicated to promoting proper husbandry with this species.
It's not done....but let me know what you think if you have time to take a look.
I would welcome any feedback or suggestions.

Thanks!

Cheetah13mo,

There is some care specific to females that you should be aware of.
I have an expert keeper, who has had great success in controlling egg production and prolonging the female veiled's life span, writing an article specifically on this topic for the site.
It should be posted within the next few weeks.
Keep checking back!
Good luck finding your male. Have you checked Mike's website?

Hey Brad, very nice site. One note for you to check on is in regards to the zoomed uvb lights. Try the ones from www.reptileuv.com. They are very well priced and have been proven to produce more substantial uvb, and be safer to the animals, than the zoomed. I just picked one up and am very happy with it. Also it is a little more affordable in my opinion.

oops, my bad there brad, those lights may put out too much heat for the chams. Unless it is situated far enough back to not get them too warm. I'm still playing with mine to see how they do temp wise.

Thanks for the response.
I don't know that light but will check it out. Among Chameleon Keepers, the Zoomed Repti-sun 5.0 fluorescent linear tube is the most generally accepted and approved UVB light.
If you go to LLL Reptile's site you can pick them up for $13.99 ea.

Here's a picture of my new girl!
She arrived a week ago and is doing very well.
She's about 8 months old ... in about 4 months we will try introducing her to the big boy!

The girl pictured above successfully laid a clutch of 27 beautiful big white eggs yesterday.
As it turns out she came to me gravid. I have been feeding her well over the last 4 weeks, and she did a great job!
