Thanks! I would like a Nile, but they are illegal to own down here. I want another Sav, plus a few other tree monitors. Right now I have him and a female. Hoping to get some babies at some point.
awesome as always!! hmm they look familiar how's your finger(had to ad that, how about ornate niles, they are legal here.they don't get that big and are more colorful,oh hey,we got a fishing spider in(georgia local) if ya stop in ya may want to check it out.
Finger is good. I am considering the ornate, too. Or the blue spot timor. Gorgeous things. Very interesting on the fishing spider - I may come grab that tomorrow!
I saw some documentary on Florida and they said there are like over 240 invasive species now living in Florida and monitors of all types are one of them. Apparently Nile Monitors are big down there and they are digging up gator and sea turtle eggs and endangering a lot of the local wild life but Floridians have grown accustomed to them. Have you seen any out in the wild? They also had this amnesty day where you could turn in your reptiles....i forget which county and they will rehome them for you. Along with snakes and other reptiles....parrots and tarantulas of all kinds and other things managed to show up. I guess the everglades would be a perfect place for any of these things to blow up. Aren't B. Vagans local down there now?
Not that often, but I have friends that go a few times a month. They've not seen anything, either. While they are there, I don't think they are as numerous as the many shows and news hype leads on to believe.
