I've been reading up on this and still, I'm a bit lost on this matter... I have a black light heat lamp over my scorpions most of the day. If this is bad for them, then what should I do??? I don't want to hurt them....

Simple...turn it off. It still not 100 percent sure if UV rays HARM scorpions but I can guarantee you they effect them. Better safe than sorry.

I have had bad incedents with UV rays and scorps. I am 100 percent convinced that they do have a negative effect if there is not a place to TOTALLY retreat from the source of light.

if you're using a cheap black light bulb, the uv intensity is very low (little uv-a, no uv-b, no uv-c), a lot less than regular sunlight, it will not harm your scorpions. but don't use it at nighttime, it's like bright sunlight to the scorpions.

Infrared light, ceramic heat emitter, heat mat, heat the room to temp, space heater...

Black lights are not something you should be using on your scorpion for prolonged periods of time.

So a red light would be better? I thought they both put off UV rays?

I have a plastic terrarium for two of my three different species of scorpion. Can one use a ceramic heater on the plastic terrariums? ....and where would be the best place to purchase a ceramic heater?

Pet stores usually have them. Petco, Pet Depot....Aren't too cheap either. Might want to get one from there because you need on that doesn't use too much wattage. Otherwise your bulbs will burn out, or you will toast your scorps.
