I was wondering if jelly pods can be made with jello? The ingredients are the exact same but the pods I just bought have some fruit mixed in. I spent three dollars for a couple pods but if the ingredients are the same, it would be easier to mix fruit with jello and make my own. These are the ingredients. I think everything is safe but I don’t know. Please tell me. Thank you. I was going to make my own but I don’t have agar powder.

I’ll add strawberry and banana. I bout 3 pods and I’m already out in one day. The jelly pods seem to have more chemicals in it that I thought were unhealthy like red 40, yellow 4, blue 4, blue 5. How is that safe. I’ll try to make it. Thank you. If I don’t make these, my feeder bill will probably go from 10 to 20 dollars

Since it has to melt into the jello, I’m going to add strawberry juice. Blended strawberry would have chunks of fruit and that’s gross so I’ll try to juice them.

If you really to check how safe it is just look up a beetle jelly recipe or ask someone who sells it what the recipe is.

A better option would be to just buy some gelatin powder (this is a common ingredient you should be able to find in the grocery store with the canning supplies) and make your own fruit gels from scratch. That way it's dirt cheap and you know exactly what's in it.

I’ll buy the powder or keep buying jelly pods. I looked at one of the acids online and it caused some damage to algae and daphnia and a couple of insects they tested it on. I guess I’ll just eat this batch and make a safe one.

Making your own is really easy! If you're interested I will track down my recipe and post for you.
