I have a piece of Eucalyptus husk/bark that I thought would work great as a hide for one of my Avics. As it dries after falling from the tree, the edges roll in and it makes a good 1/2 to 3/4 tube shape which an arboreal should like.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it and if this stuff would harm the T in any way? Also being in an arboreal set-up with slightly moist substrate, I'm wondering if this stiff will mold.

Does the bark have any of the 'mediciny' smell that eucalyptus is known for? Because if so that is menthol and is very toxic to mites which are in the Arachnid group.

Hey CM,

The normal Eucalyptus scent is very very faint if anything. That was one of the first things I did when I thought about using it. I'm thinking now, just to be safe, maybe I won't use it.
