Well my female usambara blocked herself completly in her flower pot with dirt i think there is probably a molt coming soon because her color was getting a dull yellow color when she did it, she never even used the flower pot she made a little tub web type thing right between the flower pot and the glassthen she moved into the flower pot all the sudden weird, anywayz if anyones usambaras have done this to them or something similar how long does it usally take for them to molt?

my 2"er took forever. i have her pipe pinned against the side of the tank so i can look in, and when she was finished she still didnt come out, it was like she didnt know how to get out of her web wall. eventually i used a wire coat hanger to get in there and i had to remove her webbing b/c she wasnt kind enough to bring her old skin out for me.

My sling doensn't take that much to molt. If you allow him to burrow and stuff it'll do fine. They web alot IMO. any ways have a nice day and I'm sure your Usambara will molt soon.

Yeah, I wouldn't go by feeding charts to predict a moult with these... Yesterday mine ate, then I checked it three hours later and it moulted:?

I noticed they tend to do major nest work prior to moulting; I guess this is for more room etc once they have moulted and increased in size and what-have-you

I've read other accounts of this too, so it isn't just mine!

It's just reached approx 3-4" legspan, so I'm on a new level of caution with it....

Your Usambra is most likely fixing to molt because ours did the same thing. My husband also had to cut at the webbing to get her old skin out. Course messing with her web is like the #1 worse thing to do well to her. Well I hope the molt is successful :)

I wouldn't disturb her though. She WILL come out when SHE'S darned good and ready! Peeking in on her is o.k., but you would probably do nothing more than stress her out if you rip up her webbing and move her around just to see if she has molted. These things take something I'm VERY short of.... PATIENCE!!;)

My sling made an elaborate web before molting that was akin to the fortress of solitude in the old SuperMan movies with Christopher Reeves. Very neat....I regret not getting a pic.
