I wanted to know if anyone can give me background info on the U. pilosus (lush scorpion)? I have searched and searched online and can't seem to find much, except for the fact they are small little guys...i've even searched here, but only come up with "for sale" stats.

Thanx,
Jen

There are quite a few Uroplectes enthusiasts here on AB that should be able to give you all the info you need.

Ive had alot of experience with this species and of all the uroplectes species out there - they seem more sensitive than all the others except maybe Uroplectes chubbi. They like it relatively dry and temps of 75-90 ( higher heat for gravid females ) i used mostly sand as substrate with a little coco peat mixed in

Anymore you can tell me about them?? How venomous, skittish.. Etc?? I'm not interested in having a commune of them, so who they do OK individually??

They are buthids so they could possibly pack quite a sting but not much info on their venom. They are quite skittish and tend to hide when approached. They seem to enjoy a rock or seashell as a hide but didnt seem to like cork bark much. Im guessing you found them on pinchers and pokies site ( so they came from me originally) not communal as my last female killed and ate the male and she died shortly after.
I have 2 females left but unfortunately no males :(

Eric has done a great job with these. I was able to had some pretty good luck as well but got rid of my adults a few months back.

One thing to note, these guys are small and the babies are TINY!
