my g.rosea has been ready to moult for weeks, and webbed very hard yesterday , last night she settled up against some wood bark and this morning she is same place, her caraspace has popped open, but she is not on her back, she is on her legs, can she moult in such a position?
what can I do ?

Thanks
John

can you give maybe a little more info? Is this the first molt you've witnessed? How large is it? You said last night she 'settled up' against some corkbark, was she upside down? And if the carapace has indeed popped, how much of her can you see, and what color is she? Is she still moving?

her caraspace has popped and she is starting to emerge, will post some pics in a little while. I've seen her molt before, about 2 years ago and she molted in the normal position with her legs in the air, I've had her about 4 years now.
yesterday she webbed heavily, almost making a circular mattress, and then settled up against a cork bark, which is a little semi circular bit of wood for the to hid in which she usually prefers to sit on top of.
she is currently upright, huddled up against the wood, with her legs partially bent upwards, her caraspace has blown and she is moving her legs and abdomen,, she is definitely in process of molting.
all my instincts are to just leave her do her thing, but i cant help wonder if it would be better to flip her onto her back in one gentle movement, but maybe this would stop the molt process and kill her ?

As long as she's still shedding the skin, I wouldn't worry.. I've seen it before (rare sure.. but it has happened) without a problem.

this was her when I found her this morning

this is the position she started to molt in, she seems to be progressing well, her legs are almost out,, should I just leave her be, and hope ?

update

she seemed to molt ok, but, is currently motionless with her new legs firmly curled underneath her like a death curl, but I think she is most likely resting ,,, I'll leave the telly on for her and check on her this afternoon.

If her legs are completely out, then I believe she's fine.
I'd imagine it's a rightside up (or is it upside down?) version of what they normally do after a molt:

I wouldn't worry. My rosea has always molted in either an upright or sideways position, never on her back.

she molted fine, she is really huge now, and very pink, much more than last time, how long to wait before offering food ?
