I noticed this one on its back while checking on the breeders, it doesn't move its legs but it does move it's mouth and antenna. They've been beetles for about 5 months. I'm offering this one to my favorite huntsman who ate a decently sized oriental roach about 2 nights ago but is still skinny looking. She couldn't catch the smokey bastard, watched her fail 6 times and it was still alive the next morning so I tried putting it into a jar to be offered to another huntsman and the bastard got away.

Looks like the beetle is dying.

I know huntsman could eat beetles, but why not use something softer?

agree, I know spiders are capable of it but usually people don’t use beetles for that exact reason, they’re quite hard

I mean I doubt it will go for a non-moving harder-body insect.
