Big beautiful girl!
Yeah she looks in pretty good shape for a WC, they normally turn up looking like they've been through a cement mixer, looks gravid too so fingers crossed she leaves me a little present, not holding my breath though.

Apparently gravid wild caughts are notoriously difficult to get to drop them though, so waiting game I guess :)
Is there anything in particular one can do to induce them to drop? Like, temperature or moisture changes or anything?

I'm not really sure, I don't think too much is known about breeding habits and environmental influence of wild specimens and certainly not on my part, I'm just gonna try keeping her fairly cool (as I imagine a deep burrowing species would be subject to cooler temps in a 6' deep burrow than a lot of keepers keep their T's at) and a nice big enclosure as I imagine an enclosure lacking the size it needs would probably leave WC specimens feeling too insecure to want to lay as it would be obvious to the spider it's habitat is compromised so to speak, besides that I'd say all I can do is try and disturb her as little as possible, she is already enormous so if she dont take a feed in a week or two I'll not disturb her at all until either she drops or moults out either way, if she lays a sac then it's good news if she moults then I have a shiny new even bigger monster (I also have a suspect juvenile male so can try again!) but she looks pretty fresh so I'd say she is most likely gravid as these look battered towards needing a moult owing to the infrequency with which the actually do moult.

Yeah, luckily the males are minuscule in comparison to the females, maybe he is only one moult from mature.
Indeed. The waiting game is part of the enjoyment of keeping them, in any case. Good luck with the sac!

It's one of the things that I -really- dislike about Spidershop - they import a freaking huge amount of WC T species that are readily available in the hobby. Aside that, you like to play it risky "Don't put your fingers in there" as your GF / wife said in the vid :D

Yeah, they regularly do so, I've wanted an AF for a while and captive bred adult of this sp. are few and far between, I do try to avoid WC specimens if possible as they tend to be a little more awkward to settle and the most defensive spiders I have seem to all be the WC's, and yeah I hear you about the fingers! She was fairly chilled though (until I poked her with the ruler anyway...) apologies if that seemed unnecessary, I kinda figured I wanted one good hiss as I fully expect this to be the first, last and only time I see her for a good while!

I wasn't trying to offend you there anyways, bud. Just giving my opinion. Everytime I read about someone getting a new T from the spidershop, in most cases it was WC. Seems to me most of what they sell is WC by now. Anyways, I do like the huge tank you provided her with, I'm curious how often she'll show up once she settles in though. Hoping she does settle in really first off.

No I wasn't offended anyway mate, I know most of their stock (from juvenile onwards anyway) is WC, I generally try to avoid as I say unless it's something I simply cannot get CB as an adult (as all the juveniles I buy seem to be damn males) and slings take ages to grow,
And yeah I hope she does, do you buy most of yours private or do you use German sellers (Scheller, Hopp, Vinmann etc) or just whoever has what you want?

I get most of my T's from breeders over here (Germany) as I'm located here, too. The vast majority of my T's is from a single breeder actually (the one I sent the MM GBB to and will send the P. pulcher MM to). I've bought from MS before, but only slings. I prefer to get slings of most species anyways, since I like to see them grow up. Not to mention you learn a lot "on the way" in my opinion. There a number of breeders that I buy from. Certain individuals I avoid completely even (not gonna name-call!).
As a sidenote, even though I'm looking for A. juruensis for months already, I'd turn down a WC offered to me - it's just one of my principles. Although I can understand people sometimes get a WC specimen if it's insanely hard to come by. Once they're established in the hobby though, I just don't see a need to support that kinda stuff is all I'm saying.

Yeah I like to as well, unless of course there are none available, I really do not like buying "unsexed" juveniles, as they all seem to be males in time, I have a funny feeling the sellers know the sex, they just sell them as "unsexed", because male juveniles are less marketable, I mean, who lets spiders get to these sizes and never think to examine the old skins? At least with slings, as you say, you learn them and also get a fair chance of it being a female.

True enough, indeed. I agree on that basis. As for sellers selling juvies as "unsexed" while being actually already sexed as males - there are some people out there trying to make a "quick buck" with P. metallica that way - which I find totally honorless, but except not buying from them, there's nothing you can.

Yeah, I think having weighed up my options, now I either buy sexed females or slings (the only TRULY unsexed spiders) unless, of course I require a male of that species, I think I have just learned to be more patient and wait to buy the females, as I always luck out an end up with males by being in a hurry to get AF's now I actually enjoy watching them grow as well.
