Anytime a T is in a tube be careful.... it is easiest to push them out like that but you must be very very careful. You can snag legs and cause injury if you are not careful pushing them out.

Congrats on a beautiful t! That's the oddest packing I've ever seen. I've never seen anyone use a toilet paper roll and newspaper in the container. Seems to have worked pretty well!

Over here,Quite a few people ship them like that.
I have had a few packed the same and it is much easier to catch them and release them in a paper tube.
If you have a pokie to ship,just remove the hide,place a tube sealed at one end with kitchen roll and the pokie will use the tube as a hide and basically pack itself.You just remove it and seal the other end.
They have always arrived fine packed like that as well.
Surprised you have never seen it done like that.
