this spider was descovered in a box of ornamental fish imported direct from srilanka.

Kind of reminds me a bit of a fishing spider (Dolomedes sp) but not sure. Its only about 2cm legspan and seems non aggresive.

Anyone fancy a guess what sp it may be? :?

I'm not a specialist ( far from it!! ) but it does look like some kind of a fishing spider to me... Aren't fishing spiders really agressive thought?!? It sure does have a nice looking white stripe :)!!

Probably not Dolomedes, but maybe in the same family, Pisauridae, the Nursery web spiders. Looks simmilar to the Pisaurina sp. we find around here.

Definitely a Pisaurid. Not a Dolomedes, but closely related. They're known as Nursery Web Spiders, and can make good pets. Nice color.
