Hello, I've recently found a spider in my garage. He was almost dead from how cold it was when I found him, but I brought him inside and he's doing much better now. He's about 1/2 inch (including his legs) and a dark blackish-orange. His underside has a bit more orange to it, but the rest of him is black, aside from a slight reddish tint in his legs. He isn't very fast, but is moving around a good bit. He doesn't seem very aggressive, only a bit shy when startled. I found him at 5:12pm EST, so it was dark out, aside from the garage light. If anyone knows what type of spider he is, and if I can keep him, please let me know. Thank you.

P.s. : he is arboreal, from what I can tell. He likes to try and climb up walls.

Looks like a male, possibly Steatoda sp. it’s best to let him go in the day time before it gets too cool at night. It won’t make a good pet as it ll just wonder around looking for females until it dies. Best to let it go and it might find a lady
