unidentified snake/lizard/ weird thing speceis

I found a weird looking snake thing in my aunt's backyard. Its around a foot or so long, and has a yellow belly. It has a green back and is really thick for a snake thats only a foot or so long. Any ideas? I'll be having pictures soon in case you need a better description. :?

sounds like maybe a legless lizard of some sort, but florida is pretty far off my home range. can you post a photo?

definitly sounds like a legless lizard. they're everywhere! how long have you been in florida and never seen one? does it have a fold along its side? pix will help. good luck.
