Unexpected Versi Molt!!!

Went to check on my T's after coming home from work, and noticed my versi was somehow....different, LOL. I had thought she had just went into premolt, but apparently she wanted to do this now!!!

She looks like she's at about the 2" mark:

I was just looking over my records last night when I was marking down my A. avic molt, and my A. versi should be coming up on one soon (if he keeps the same pattern he's kept since I got him anyways lol).. I'm excited!

I had an unexpected versi molt too - unexpected in that little Speedy was 2 months past his normal molt schedule when it finally happened - I'm going to have to re-house him soon at the rate he's growing ...

Thanks!!! I was honestly expecting her to molt sometime next week...like after rent was due, LOL!!!

Hope Loh molts for you, Jairi.....wonder if he'll be showing adult colors with this molt??? :?

And yes, Killy, it IS more gratifying when it's a versi. Even if I turn a blind eye to all the SADS threads when my little Jezebel goes into premolt, I am still on pins and needles!!!

Thanks Steve.. I'm wonderin' what he'll look like too! He's not in premolt yet.. him n his little fat self just took a roach (he was hanging upside down at the bottom of his new tube web.. his face was just screamin "Plz to has roach?" at me LOL)

Well, Jairi...at least be happy Loh is doing something!!! With how "fragile" versis are "supposed" to be, and all ....Considering that she endured a premolt, and molted in a mold-infested enclosure, I'd say the A. versicolor are pretty hardy species. I've been meaning to transfer her, but putting it off due to that premolt. Now that she molted, I'll have to wait a week until she hardens up.

Jezebel just went almost two months between molts this last time. Before that, it was about 7 weeks between molts. 5 1/2 weeks before that, and 4 weeks before that. She is not gaining much size between molts either.

Loh is kickin butt in the "fragile versi" department lol he ain't nothin' of the sort! His molts have been 2-2.5 months apart thus far.. last one was 9.20, so we'll see!
