Unexpected sling death

I lost one of my slings today, a little 1cm Euathlus truculentus I got just a week ago. Don't really know why because it was totally healthy and ate a cricket yesterday, but I have a bad feeling that while I was at uni the sun was shining on its pot and it got cooked

It was alive but curled when I got home. Put it in an ICU and got it to drink some, and it looked like it was improving for a while cos it was trying to walk around, but then it just kind of lay down and gave up.

Sucks. But I guess I'm lucky that none of my other slings had the same thing happen cos they are all in a box together so if the sun was shining on one it would have been shining on them all, so I don't know why that one in particular got it so bad.

dont feel bad, I always have bought T's that were already at 2"+, and I bought a T and got a freebie 1/4in sling, and I put it in a deli cup and I apparently it could fit though the lil air holes, so one day I was going to put some substrate in his cup and he wasnt in there and I looked around my room and he was hiding under a pillow on the ground and he was all dried up. Doh!

Sorry to hear about your sling. I had something similar happen to a sling after about a week too. Felt so sad, never got to really know the little tyke. Sometimes with slings there is no reason really. Stuff happens, but it's still sad.

i lost a sling of the same species last week.

one of the remaining two is acting sluggish.

1.dont have a t infront of derect sunlight
2.have curtains closed

i lost another little one today

i keep their deli cups together in a large sterilite container, not stacked, away from windows, with a towel over the side that faces the windows.

sometimes there's just nothing we can do i guess.
