So umm... can anyone tell me, perhaps, about how much a 3" Cobalt Blue can "lift"?

If not... then... umm... does anybody know about how much they can... umm... "dig" in one night?

Thank you.

Are we thinking that our 3" Cobalt escaped???? LOL, that sure would suck!! But to answer the digging question, they can dig, quite a bit in one night if they dig the whole night....prolly their whole den if they had enough ambition....and we are talking about a cobalt....

Mine dug loads in one night; a good five inches deep. The tunnel was about 9 inches in total length by 1.5 inches wide (average) if that gives you an idea.

Here's a sneak preview of a section where this is mentioned on my upcoming website. Feel special for the sneak preview! ;)

"I noticed the extensive period of time taken for this spider to 'settle' into it's new home. The spider didn't enter it's burrow for a good two weeks, where it would stay 'hunched up' inthe corner, looking as if it would soon die. After two weeks it entered the artificial burrow I'd prepared, however it was a further two weeks before this spider carried out further excavation, where within a night it had dug down to the plastic bottom. The total digging within this one night was a tunnel approximately 9 inches long by 1.5 inches wide. Pretty impressive for just a few hours work. I've read many other accounts of this too.©DAN FOX 2003"

All Clear!

Well, it turns out that she just dug... DEEP. I'm talking at least 8 inches in one friggin' night! I only dug out have the tank (split 10 gal) and thought "nah, no way she could dig that deep." After that I tore the room apart and then, in desperation, I went back to the tank and started to remove the rest of the dirt - I was scooping out hardcore when all of a sudden I saw this giant ball of blue death comin' at my hand and I lurched back, smacking the back of my hand against the bottom of the shelve above (one of those steel/ply wood garage shelves).

Owwww...

Crisis over.

The culprit...

Here she is... safe and sound... although once I found her at the bottom it took another 20 minutes to get her back out so I could put all the dirt back in... then I had to wrestle her back in! I bet she's pissed.
