hello everyone
well my chilean rose (jennavieve) webbed up her hide and dissappeared for a couple days. being the nub i am i started to wonder what the heck she was doin in there. so last night i was trying to peer throught her webbed entrance to no avail, so i came up with the amazing idea to pick up the hide and get the low down on what she is up to (and by amazing i mean retarded). and as i did this i saw her and....AWWWWG what the hell is.....an eggsack????!! who the hell did u make spider love to?!? so yeah she had a freakin eggsack under there, what is up with that? do ts just make infertile sacks? i have only had her for a couple weeks, is it possible that she was wild caught and got it on with some undeserving t-pimp? i dunno but i feel bad that i desturbed her. *hands self- "douche of the year" trophy*
thanx

Unless you bought her from a fellow collector, the overwhelming odds are that she was WC and not in captivity for very long. It's not uncommon for them to drop sacs.

Congratulations, if you can rear them (or get her to) successfully you'll have entered the world of T breeding without doing anything special at all :)

Congrats on the eggsack.

It has happened to me twice now where I've bought a T from a pet store and within a couple months of having them, they drop an eggsack.

But it was interesting to see the process and both eggsacks were a success, so...good luck with yours.

yeah she was from a petstore!!! wow i feel kinda intimidated by my new responsibility. spidertwin- did you just let mommie do all of the work? i did some reading up about the whole hatching-spiderling process and it said that incubating it urself is somewhat risky. that and my lack of experience makes me want to leave the sac with genna(mommie) and see what happens. i hope that i didnt freak her out cause i know stress is bad news. how many sling r usually produced by a g. rosea? how long before they hatch and what should i do to prepare myself? and what the heck should i do with all of them? thanx for all of your help!!!

Twice! It happened to you Twice?!

Man, I only wish I could be so lucky! I had to breed and hopefully I will get a sac out of the deal.

eggsac question

I was wondering something, do female T's lay spontaniouse (spelling) eggsacs?. I know in the reptile world some if not most lizzards will produce infertile eggs, even with out being mated, could this be true of the T world:?

Thanks

William
