I've had both africans from molowie and south american chiclids and it all depends on what you want. I really like my aficans but they didn't get that big as stated above and you could keep a few in a biotope community. I now have a male and female red devil in my 55 gal and they are a great pair. The only thing that I have put in the tank that has lived longer than 24 hours is the plocostemous (?). It's still alive but I think that because it's about 12 inches long. It is total carnage and I love to watch them. Let us know what you decide.

Get some Lake Tanginykans.....they may not be as colorful as some of the other Africans, but they're much more interesting IMO.

it was more for cichlids in general, not just africans the only thing i will have to change is the ph raiser and maintainer, which usually goes for 7
