I also bought a 2" Aphonopelma "Flagstaff Orange" Baby but she is Blond and looks just like a "Aphonopelma Chalcodes" which IMHO I think is the same T....here's some crappy pic's from my flip video... B.Vagans first... http://i659.photobucket.com/albums/uu315/mickey66_2009/Video200005-05.jpg Second my 2" Flagstaff Orange".... http://i659.photobucket.com/albums/uu315/mickey66_2009/Video100006-15.jpg Both T's are soooo cool!

Nice new acquisitions you have there.:D Just a little tip here. Those rocks in the enclosure are an unnecessary risk to your new T. I would hate to hear that one of your T's went for a walk around the enclosure and fell on one of those. Ruptured abdomens are a real pain in the rear.

Tip

Thanks for the Tip....Yeah,I guess I should remove them except the B.Vagans loves that one rock....funny you know how they will take to something like that....I have a G.Rosea that is the same way about a rock.

oh no the dreaded dangerous rocks.
are there not rocks in the wild?

the only thing i would be concerned about the rocks is if you tip the cage too far and the rocks move and crush the spider.

they won't hurt "themselves" on those rocks though

In the wild I doubt that terrestrial T's do much climbing on things like smooth plastic next to a pile of rocks either. I know that my B. smithi when it was younger had a couple falls from the side of the tank where if a rock had been underneath it probably would have busted his abdomen.

I forgot that YOU said that they won't hurt "themselves" on those rocks. So, since your the all knowing jersey boy I'll take it to be true. The OP can also come to you if this, albeit only a slight chance, actually happens and his T gets hurt to have you reimburse him for his loss. Since, like you said, " They won't hurt "themselves" on those rocks though". I'm just saying I don't see how you can make such a definitive statement like that. :?

If I had a delete button on this thread, I would push it. I knew the photos were not that great and said so in advance..... as far as the tip goes thanks for the input and as far as the reply to the Tip goes I thank you as well....its all about input that's how we learn. When I started this thread it was not my intent to start a pissing contest with any of the members of this forum. This has been a learning experience for me....Believe me!;) "In the wild I doubt that terrestrial T's do much climbing on things like smooth plastic next to a pile of rocks either." I guess you have never been to Arizona you see this sort of stuff/trash all the time plastic cups, old tires and rocks and such so I can't agree with this and I don't mean to offend you but its not a true statment and on this note.... I will get my coat and hat.

Hey, sorry about that I didn't mean to start anything by it. I just don't like to see people give possibly dangerous advice to someone. It probably doesn't help that the last few threads I've read have all turned into flame wars. To which I was just a witness, but maybe it rubbed off on me a little.:wall:
