Today I received two new tarantulas. The first was sold to me as an Orange Baboon (pterinochilus murinus?). It is only a spiderling, but it is very fast. Sorry about the blurry picture, I had to take it through the lid of the tub because it kept trying to escape
It is settling in nicely, eaten a couple of micro-crickets and started webbing up that tasty plastic leaf. Mmmm, nice.
The other one is a Ceratogyrus bechanicus (Straght Horned Baboon is what the dealer called it). It had actually moulted while it was in transit so it is a bit bigger than I was expecting it to be. It looks pretty settled in too. It has webbed up the piece of bark plenty and is sitting on top of it with lth stretched out. It hasn't been fed yet as I don't want to risk deforming it's fangs.
I have been reading a couple of caresheets for both of these critters. These are terrestrials right? I have given them plenty of substrate so they can have a bit of a dig if the urge gets them.
Do any of you guys have any tips for either of these? I'm still a bit of a newbie so all input and advice is welcome
