My A. versicolor sling and one of my B. smithi slings have recently molted! Time to move them to bigger homes!
The A. versi is around 2 inches now! Turning into a monster! Didn't get a great pic because I was afraid the flash would make him run, so I just snapped one quickly. Doesn't really show him off, but oh well.

And here's the smithi. I got two from Ryan back in January. This one is two molts ahead of his sibling. He's starting to look like a real tarantula now! lol.

I can't wait for him to darken up a bit. He's getting a bit cramped in the vial, so I've got to find him a bigger enclosure. He's probably around 1 1/4" or so right now. I'm wondering if one of the itty bitty critter keepers might still be too big for him...

Once they get to that size I put them in small critter keepers. Works great and is inexpesive. I also provide a small water dish, use a small cap off of something, cheap and works great. You may also consider a small hide for the Smithi.
For the versi you can put the critter keeper on end in case it decides to climb and do the abboreal thing.

Go for it. I put a GBB about that size in one of the small KKs (the smallest size available) and it tried to get out through the holes where the handle goes. I put the handle back on and haven't had a problem. It gets around just fine and has no trouble catching food.

I got some wonderful acrylic display cubes from a local hobby store for about $2 each. Drill some tiny holes and they make an awesome enclosure for smaller Ts. They even have ones that make an awesome arboreal setup if you use the lid as a base.

Nice tarantalas. They're looking good. Its so exciting when they molt and start to look like "real tarantulas".

so i rehoused the smithi a few minutes ago... had to wait to get more substrate, as i was out... was planning on feeding him before transferring him to the new container, but that didn't work out. my car broke down on the way home, and all my feeders (crickets and three mice) overheated and died while I was waiting for the tow truck. Anyways, i'm home now, and he's in his new home. I put a tiny clay flower pot in there for a hide. He's about 1 1/2", I got a better measurement after moving him, because he could spread out more. he still looks too small for a soda bottle cap water bowl... my mom suggested a shallow shell, so i think she's trying to find one in her craft supplies.
