Two Male Ivory Head roaches breeding

My two male ivory had roaches appear to be “joined”. How does this happen and why?

Possibly because they aren't both males? Looks like normal mating behavior between a male and a female.

P.S To be clear, both sexes of this species have wings if that is what you are basing your assessment upon.

Really?! I was under the assumption that female Ivory head roaches looked like this.

All nymphs and sub-adults look like that, and upon the molt to maturity they all get wings.

I think you will find that the fact that in the picture shown the cockroach has the yellow/ orange spots proves it is still a nymph.
