Having owned a MF G rosea for a few years now and a sub adult Female G Pulchra for a few months, I decided to take the plunge and aquired a B smithi sling today, my first "sling" as I wanted to watch something grow and mature (I know its going to take a while lol), and always wanted a B smithi since seeing one in a pet shop when I was a kid. Its about 1cm across, so tiny compared to my other two, lets see how I get on... May need a few more now to help it eat the pinheads lol...

It's awesome to watch the little ones grow up, and to see them gain a little more color with each molt.

I wish you best of luck, and welcome to the boards :)

Thanks Mara, had a molt out of my G Pulchra in May, went from around 6cm to around 8.5cm and got a lot darker, its due another in the next month or so I think, but it's around 18 months old so already has most of it's adult black colour now, but the B smithi is mostly brown/pink with a little patch of dark hairs, so will be interesting to see it develop. Congrats on your new red knee. I have a few smithis and the colors get cool pretty quick with them. Enjoy the boards, you just have to learn how to ignore the elitist jerks that try to push new members around.

Congrats on your new baby! I have 2 B smithis that are close to an inch now. I got them about about 1/4" a few months back. They grow pretty fast as slings, which surprised me. They are already showing some lighter color on their "knees". Would love to see some pictures of your collection :D

Thanks! Have a few pics, will try to post them up later. Thinking to get a couple more later this week, as I got hundreds of pinheads now that need eating, the place where I got it from also had B auratum & B emilia slings in stock, a good start to a collection of Bracy's I think...

Congrats on the Smithi! I have a 2" sling and can't wait to see it get it's full color, although i'm having fun watching it grow. They are in my top 3 of most beautiful Ts.

The smithi is definitely one of the staples in any collection. I have a 4" male that I aquired this year to try and mate with my friend's female. He's not quite mature yet, but is due to molt soon cause his butt is real dark. Not sure if this will be his ultimate molt. Even tho I bought him as a breeder I will be kinda sad if he hooks out knowing his little clock will start ticking. I've been debating whether to get a sling. I held off cause I had a handfull of other slings that still needed more one on one feeding attenton, but now they are all grabbing thier food like the big guys. Might be a good time to go shoppin'...lol

Thanks, its been feeding well since I got it last week, taking a pinhead every 3 days but I thought the same so will keep an eye on it, when I got it I removed the remains of two previous molts from its container, unfortunatley they were too damaged to keep.
