You could try a local ASPCA society. From what I've heard, it's very possible they might not care because they're invertebrates.

Im sure they will laugh at that phone call.

I know petstores have a bad rep around here but I ask , is it not ok for a store to have a dead animal ? Things die, it happens. Its safe to say the employee's did't seen them yet. I'm sure if you looked in there fish tanks you would prob see a few dead ones as well. Should we report every store that has a couple of dead fish in it ? Why not go after the importer who prob bought hundred's if not thousands of wild cuaght ones. Trust me they have way more than 2 dead ones in there tanks.

Im not saying there isn't a place for WC animals, but as a ex pet-store employee I guess this struck a nerve haha{D

Supply /demand/ & greed will keep every shady petstore, reptile/fish importer and puppy mill in buss, forever. Sadly sometimes at the expense of the animals life.

Later, Tom

I was trying to be nice about it.

It doesn't make sense that the ASPCA would laugh at that, whereas when it comes to Hollywood, they have to sign all this paperwork to make sure a tarantula used in a movie is treated well. And when it comes to invert squishing scenes, they have to stuff old exuvia with gunk to make it look real!

Not saying we should squish live bugs in our movies now, but it's pretty sad how Hollywood treats bugs better than the ASPCA, or even better than 98% of pet stores in the USA.

All living things die and obviously a pet store can't predict the age and health of every single animal. Hermit crabs are especially death prone, they probably clean out dead ones every week or so at ANY pet store carrying them...it's honestly nothing.
