Nice pics. The background sets off the color in the tarantula:clap:

I especially like the second pic. It's like she doesn't even realize there is an enormous spider on her face.

Could be the new Tarantula HeadSet.

Good pictures indeed.

Thanks all. Normally I don't have a very good phone for taking pictures, so I don't even bother, but Chelsea (the girl in the pic) happened to have a nice one and was willing to pose for some pics with my T.. For the record, I don't normally handle my T's and this was a special occassion. Can't get very good pictures of her if she's in her enclosure.

And, in case any of you are wondering: She's extremely mellow and sweet. Was very cooperative for the pictures and dealt with being handled very well. (That goes for both of them, come to think of it!)

She didn't kick hairs, or throw up a single threat posture...ever.

I'll try to get some pictures of my slings after they have hardened up a bit. 3 out of 5 of them have molted recently.

Just goes to show you that you should never handle an animal you don't feel 100% comfortable handling and then you need to treat the animal with respect. (Whether it's an 8 inch spider, a stray cat, or a member of your own species ;)) Every living thing receives messages from its environment. You want to send the message that you're on equal footing; walk that line where you aren't seen as a threat or as food.

Your pictures capture moments where 3 living things are totally at ease with one another. Both of the models as well as the photographer's hand are confident and relaxed. I think that's why the pictures are so lovely.

I think it would be a good idea for anyone whether they're a seasoned vet or an 'arachnopeon' to consider videotaping their interactions with their pets. That way, when something goes wrong and you don't know why you can examine the tape and even share it if need be. Labeling the animal as 'crazy' or 'aggressive' doesn't seem to leave much room for personal growth.
