True scientific name of Cuban Purple Birdeater?

I am trying to load the info of my new Cuban Purple sling into Tisha's app and I'm wondering if anyone truly knows the correct scientific name. Thanks.

I have seen them advertised as phormictopus centumfocensis

Mine were sold to me as Phormictopus sp. "purple". I haven't really seen anything different.

After a look on wikipedia, Phormictopus cancerides centumfocensis was a subspecies that is no longer valid. Looking at other search results, I really can't find much on it at all except that it's a name. A few places are still labeling it as a color phase of cancerides, which would also not make it the sp. "purple", since the "purple" is supposed to be a different species than the cancerides completely.

But that's just after a quick search. I don't know a whole lot about this genus.

I'm not sure if you'll find anything helpful here or not. But this is a thread I made a while back being frustrated with my Phormictopus sp purple.
