Gorgeous pictures, as always! Looks like you had a great trip. I bet it's amazing to see an Avic. (and other creatures) in their natural habitat.

wow, those are good pics, especially the spiders. correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that avicularia is an A. geroldi.

Sigh....Even Rick C West wont ID a T from a pic. It would be a guess in most instances. A mega-guess in avicularia...

Stick around, pic ID'ing is at best taking stabs at things

*sigh* i get one mantis wrong and comment on other people's pets for a long time, and suddenly, i'm the forum idiot...
not like i get my guesses right out of the air, and it's not like i am saying that i am 100% right without any possible doubt in anyone's mind. what species do you think it is?

What kind of chameleon is that? Looks like a small green iguana with chameleon eyes....

It has some very small white tipping and dark reddish hair (strongist on leg IV) both of which geroldi lacks, plus A.ger is afaik only found on a small island in a lake that lake being possibly in Brazil? (Correct me if am wrong), to me it looks closer to A.met but that spider is best left as being Avic.sp {D.

BTW: chameleon is used a name for some anoles too.

There are no chamaeleons found in the new world, they are a ord world group of lizards. Nice pix anyway!
Oh yeah there are a hawaiian jacksoni population but they come from pets that been released on the island.

Well, i don't know anything about chameleons or snakes, but i thought it looked like chameleons because of the rolling eyes... :)
(i leave it to the experts to tell what those are)

I went to Isla Margarita, a "jungle" island part of venezuela at 30 km near the coast of venezuela ( that's were i found those avics), and Canaima, that's a national park in Venezuela were the famous angel falls are.

A trip to venezuela don't cost that much. Only the plane ticket from europe.
Hotels and food over there are very cheap. And u can make lot's of excursions with a guide at a good price. 5 days for 200 euro or something...

I had a fantastic time over there, going back in july...

Or maybe check out the greentracks.com site from Rick West...

 how big is that? Looks good.[/QUOTE]

Well, u kinda can see how big it is seeing the hand next to it... i guess around 12 to 15cm...
In the left bottom of the web, u can see the male (i guess).

I assume it's a huge female nephila... they were building huge webs over there... webs with a span of 2m +

that´s not a chameleon, that´s a lizard from the genus Polychrus... I´m from Brazil, there are some species of that genus here either...

GREAT pictures! That must have been an amazing trip..
