I was just thinking about when my new avic. geroldi sling arrives Saturday.

I've got several small spider plants here (coffee cup sized), and I was thinking one of them might make a good 'tree' for when my sling gets just a bit bigger. Put it in a slightly larger vertical delicup with sufficient ventililation, and I think the plant's respiration would provide a lot of jungle-like humidity.

Right now my sling is going to be in a large vial - someone described sling vials as analogous to baby cribs - what kind of item could I put in there for it to use to make a web on instead of the lid?

What do you do with your arboreal slings?

I just cut off small peices of corkbark off a large piece...popsicle sticks would work...twigs..half a wooden clothes pin...They're good climbers and can take to just about anything you put in the vial for them to climb on.Just try to make sure whatever you put in there is anchored well(dab of aquarium silicone) or it may just flop around in there which could injure the sling...peace..

i just cut up dried branches from the oak or birch tree outside and use those for my avic slings. I try and have the thinner ones, about 1cm-1.5cm diameter ones so there is a lot of open space. Easier for me to pick up dead crickets etc.

Also i find they like to web up in a corner if i position the branch so that it pokes up into one of the corners of their cage
