Well trapdoors usually dont eat much. Most of them will fast for months. I have 1 red that eats about once a month, and 1 black that eats once every 6 months. Im not sure how big that locust is, but try using prey the size of the spiders abdomen or a little smaller. Just leave the prey in overnight, and if uneaten, remove the next day. Try again in a few days or week. These guys cango a long time without eating. Good luck.

making traps in cococoir doesn't seem to give the same like, prey stimulation as in "wild" substrates... so sometimes i open the trapdoor and drop a prey in if a spider was skinny and still not eating

cheers for the advice, the 4th locust i put in wasnt big at all but i am going to get some 3rds next time to see if smaller prey helps,i am sure it will be fine and eat when its ready, its completely disappeared now though as its webbed up its trap all the way down,i guess it must be happy enough since i havent seen it since i got it,the help is appreciated though

I must have a hungry trapdoor, mine eats weekly, and anything I put in it. Always gone the next the day, 1 cricket, 2 crix, 2 meal worms, doesnt mater, its gone.
