hello

i am getting a trap door spider soon and a shiny grey tunneling spider, i am going to put them both in seperate tanks with about 10 to 12 inchs of substrate so i am wondering on the heating and humidity they should have. the tanks with heat mats stay around 75 degrees but it should rise with more soil and less air space i think.

thanks for your help

I keep mine in non ventlated caontainers but make sure to air them out for £0 mins a day, the humidity for mine is 70+ and it has had no bad affects

Is the heat mat on the bottom or side of the tank? I am only asking because if the spider does get too hot its going to burrow. If the mat is on the bottom of the tank its going to keep moving closer to the heat source and fry itself. I have also found humidity a nightmare to maintain with a heat mat. It simply dries out the substrate too quickly.
