I have 14 tarantulas ranging in size from quarter inch to 4inches.... I am moving an approximately 10 minute drive from where I live now and am wondering if I need to put all my Ts in small containers for the drive or if they will be fine in their enclosures.

Personally i would lprobably leave them in their enclosures unless there is something unstable in there that i was worried might come loose and squish them (which i intetionally don't have in any of mine LOL)

You can transport them in their enclosures if there is nothing in there that would pose a risk of injury if it shifted during the drive.

If there is anything in their enclosures that could crush them if I had to stop suddenly, I put them into a deli container and put the container inside their enclosure. I don't glue anything down, so it is too risky for my liking to leave them in like that. I also put them on the floor of the car, so they can't move that much.
You can also put them into a tote, or box, to restrict movement as well.

I transport most of my collection from my home to my kids' school and back a couple of times a year, for the summer school classes that I teach and for Halloween "Creepy Crawly Day" presentations. I just leave the animals in their enclosures - and drive slowly and carefully. I do remove any loose or heavy items that might shift in transit - like hides or larger water dishes - and put them back when I get there.

I would remove anything heavy or unstable but leave the tarantulas in the enclosures.

I would agree with taking anything heavy out of the enclosures and leaving the animal in the enclosure, also empty all water dishes. Ive moved my collection which has Ts pedes and scorpions over and hr multiple times (college student) using this method and i havent lost one animal in transit. I packed them tightly into a box and put the box in my driver seat, i put any small sling vials in my cup holders.

During all of those years of keeping, I've received, completely for free and basically delivered at my door, a nice amount of T's -- ranging from the cheapest common ones to the likes of sexed females like M.robustum -- from people that lived KM distant from me.

Needless to say, they delivered their T's to me with said T's inside their enclosures and all (since those people were genuinely clueless about how to pack and protect T's), anyway, nothing happened.

Now, such a thing isn't exactly the way to go (but, as I've said, those persons were clueless for that they weren't even keepers, mostly those kind of random purchasers fellas) but if someone drive in a careful legit way, the distance is short (like in this case), and the inside car temperature is 'human', I doubt that things could turn particularly wrong, honestly.

To remove the 'cumbersome' and heavy items present inside (if present/s) is always a wise move, as suggested above.

I have driven up to 10 hours with tarantulas in their enclosures, multiple times. Just recently, we moved about 4 hours away with our collection of around 100 specimens. We Tetris-style arranged their enclosures in the backseat of my truck (and they took up every inch!).

I moved 7 hours away with 5 Ts in their enclosures with the cages flat on the floor of an SUV and everything went fine.
