Someone will know- make sure it doesn’t have fertilizer, chemicals etc in it.

Many potting soils in the US are not suitable.

No direct experience, but I've been going through the topsoil reviews on the B&Q site myself. Both Westland and their own brand seem extremely variable between bags or batches, some customers getting rich fine soil, other getting bags of stones and rotten bark. It really looks like you have to roll the dice. (Though I liked the one customer who posted photos to complain, showing off what looked like decent if slightly sandy soil)

Homebase topsoil reviews on Trustpilot (none on their own site) look more favorable.

Wickes reviews look even better at first glance, but there are none near me. Typical. (Edit: also the only one that doesn't seem to have nebulous 'organic matter' added. Typical typical!)

No potting compost for Ts, not if it's full of miracle-gro.

Habitat Spider Bedding, I use it for all my scorpion enclosures and plants. Good stuff, mixture of all things, except chemicals.

Westland topsoil constantly get mentioned as a good safe brand to use if you're based in or around the UK, I've started to use it for my snakes, mixed with some children's play sand...I also hear a lot of tortoise keepers use it.

So far I've found the bags to be of good quality.

I've been using Westland topsoil (mixed with sedge peat and fine vermiculite) for years and have never had an issue with it. You can pick up 35L bags in B&M or Wickes for about £3
