Just wondering if everyone's Tokays take foods from tongs or do you just leave prey items in cage. Also should I be worried, my new Tokay hasn't moved from same spot on the ground in a few days:(

I have feed my tokays from tongs before as well as let them chase down there own prey,It gives them a chance to get some exercise and move around..And I wouldn't be worried about it not moving from the ground thats probably were it feels more comfortable.

Hope this helps and enjoy your tokay.

I let him get his own prey, I've never tried tong feeding with mine. And Tokays are active at night, so if you see him in the same spot during the day it's no biggie. Mine has a fairly large cage and he also sits in the same spot for the majority of the time.

No worries :D

My tokays are very responsive to live prey in the cage, they hunt them down with fervor and its really quite exciting to see at times. Ive never fed with tongs and mine noly eat very moving prey items worms and ect dont move enough for them to be interested in them. They do however sometimes come and snatch crickets out of the deli cup as i drop them in. And as to why he is sitting in one stop does it have a hide in th cage? tokays often like to hide during the day so maybe add one if you dant have it.

Yeah! I hear they love that. And it would be a bonding experience between you and your Tokay!

Well....more of a bonding between it and your fingers, I suppose. And only if by 'bonding" you mean "affixing painfully".

I feed my Tokay using tongs. I'm also leaving crickets so that they would hunt if they are hungry. Tokays are really hard to be tamed. Males are more aggressive than females.

"Tong" feeding? Just use your fingers. I have seen it done before. I have actually seen some quite calm Tokay before....

(Im joking, dont feed Tokay with your hands, it will get ugly... unless you have a freak Tokay that is docile)
