The genus & species would be helpful - Anaxyrus americanus.

American toads live in very diverse habitats in temperate regions of North America: from forest to marsh, meadow to mountain, around lakes/ponds/rivers/streams, or in grasslands or scrub forest - they are highly adaptable. They can be found in rural, urban, suburban, riparian, and agricultural settings. Males are usually smaller than females, and males will have dark throats while females' throats will be white or light tan.

They mostly eat insects, but will also eat algae. If keeping them in captivity, it is important to have a water dish in the enclosure that is large enough for the toad to sit in, as they absorb water through their skin rather than drink it. Be sure to provide dechlorinated water only. Feeder insects should be obtained from reliable sources, rather than catching insects from the wild that could be exposed to insecticides or other toxins.

I would make a care sheet for whatever is most available first. The rest in order-whatever you like .
American toad is common ?
I wanted a Pac-Man frog .. very neat but toads are cool too.

Habitat: forest. Temperature: 60-70° F. Oak toads are probably the best beginner toad ever. If you have any more information about oak toads let me know so that I can update this care guide.
