Hi y'all, first time poster long time lerker. I have been looking to acquire tityus stigmurus for a few years now, I just have some questions before I finally pull the trigger.
Let me start off by saying I know and understand that they are a hot species and the no hand rule will be followed religiously. But with that being said, my biggest question is an antivenom question in particular. If a sting was to happen how would treatment work out ? I am located in Ohio, so there is really is no native species of scorpion. Would the sting be treated as a native US bark scorpion ? Or should I get a hold of Mercy hospital, Ohio's largest trauma center and request antivenom to be transported to their facility? How would I acquire antivenom for me to keep at the house ?
Sorry for the long post. I have a fiance and that's her biggest concern about me acquiring this specific species. I have done plenty of research, and have talked to a few people who keep them personally. But they didn't have the answers to my specific question. Also sorry if this is in the wrong thread.
