Tips for keeping AFS warm during winter?

My area (Kentucky) experienced a massive snow storm 2 days ago, and the temp plummeted. I have a small AFS, I forget if hes i4 or i5 but ive had him since 2021 and he's had several successful molts. and hes still tiny. But regardless, I am making this thread to ask if anyone has tips for heating in conditions like this.

I am going to purchase a new heater because the one I have is old and I know these things degrade. Does anyone have any tips for balancing humidity with the required heat in the cold climate?

A low wattage heat mat with a regulated thermostat can be pretty helpful. One on the side of the tank. Close to the hide area.

I am in Canada where we have cold winters with very dry air. I had to restrict ventilation and use a false bottom setup to maintain humidity.
