My lobster roaches weren't propagating nearly as much as I'd like. I was using wetted dog food (treats, actually but what's the difference?) for water.
I switched to bits of friut, and added fish flakes. Almost immediately, there was a noticable boom that hadn't been there before. First instar roaches. There were only two additional females that had moulted out between this switch, so it's not a factor in the population explosion.
Earlier this week, I added rotted wood. Now, I've seen at least one new batch of nymphs per DAY. I've also noticed that the gravid females crowd out the non gravid females and males to get at the rotted wood.
Anyone else have similar observations?
