As somebody who has kept snakes in the past and currently keeps tarantula's I have never understood the mystique with keeping venomous snakes. Maybe you can shed some light on the appeal of having something that can send you to the hospital with a single bite?

This is not meant to be sarcastic in any way. I am generally interested in your opinion on this topic. :)

Pretty sure if you did a search of this forum you'd find a lot of people that were curious before you.
Do you post the same question in the scorp forum? Or the other arachnids forum? Have you not heard of people keeping hots before?

This was not meant to be sarcastic in any way either. ;)

Excellent pics Lelle, horridus is one I hope we get to see in the wild. (well, I'd be pretty stoked to find any ;))

Nice canebrake, Lelle. I like the light phase a lot. Do you breed all the rattlers you keep? At some point this summer I'm hoping to get back home and see some viridis and concolor; I'd like to see a Minnesota horridus someday, too, but it might take a while to find one.

Just beautiful!

I wish I had a hot room to keep a pigmy or copperhead.

To those that don't undestand why people own venemous... it's because they arn't like non-venemous snakes. They're attitude is totally different.
Not the same type of pet at all.

Whats the mystique? I keep snakes because they interest me, this two happens to be venomous.
Im sure you go to work in a car, it can kill you and more likely to do so then my snakes.
