Hey there, I have a T. helluo for over a year now so she's definitely an old lady. My question is she is very well fed & would love to eat at every chance but her abdomen is pretty big. I just don't know how far apart feedings should be when a spider is like this. I don't have this issue with my tarantulas & she's definitely done molting. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!

They don't have to eat much as adults, unless preparing for an eggsac. Anywhere from a week to a month, just watch the abdomen.

Thanks, I have been I just don't want to starve her. She's been the coolest spider & I just want to spoil her since she's a super old lady.

Good appetite is a good sign, but they can also be full.. As mine do get older, I have to watch more.. sometimes they need pre-killed eventually. Cool spider, I haven't had one of these, don't think they are where I live. I think there is a Tigrosa sp. around but I haven't caught one yet.

Interestingly, I have a seasonal depression UV light that the wolf spider is obsessed with! I would think she'd want to hide from it but instead she tries to get as close as possible. I know so little about their behavior and I want to know more.

They'll sit in the sun, especially sunning eggsacks, probably does like uv. I've got an H. carolinensis that pounces at me when I walk by, they're goofy.

I would love to have another. She sits with me (in her enclosure but fully visible on the side closest to me) all the time.
