Hey all,

Recently aquired a nice Peruvian green velvet. Anyone else have one? how do you keep yours? What substrate do you use? Mine seems to like to clinb a lot. Spends most of its time upright on its log.

How is the temperament of yours? Mine is very skitish and very fast. Really good at climbing glass. Can climb the glass as fast as it climbs on log and stone!

What temperture/humidity?

I've got one but it's a sling. It too is quite skittish and prefers to hide in it's little cave. I was told to keep it's temps and humidity in the A genic range.

I've got a female and a male on loan. I've raised the female from a tiny sling, so 1st, they grow fairly quickly :)

As for keeping I pretty much keep them like the caresheests I read A.seemanni, but with more humidity. She may not need it now she's an adult, but seems to be doing very well with it. They are good eaters. They are a bit on the nervous/high-strung side, so not a good T for handling. And they are fast as well... Around an inch LS, they will start to get their coloring, which will mostly be dark brown with some knee striping. Only in the sun, bright light, or flash will you see the golden color. I noticed the gold before I started seeing the green in them. I saw that more as she got older. They look greenish gold with a

But, my female is rarely in her hide, and a decent display T. I have a feeling though, if I were to have her in an enclosure that would allow burrowing, that she would do that. Might be that they are a "smaller" T, only a little larger than C.fasciatum in legspan. The mature male is considerably though LS appears about the same. He is definately more nervous than she is, but then, she looks 2 times larger and stocky.

As for mating them, well, I'm fearful of unsupervised mating, as she does have a high prey drive. But, they aren't doing it with me watching so I'm going to feed her a lot the next few days and move her into a deep sweater box with 3-4 hides. Then, I'll watch them together again, and maybe have some loving going on so I can move him out. Otherwise, I'm going trust him and them long runners legs to move into a hide, study her, get his nerve up sometime in the middle of the night, and get it on with her. Hopefully, they'll have a happy fruitful time together... Has anyone here mated these and have any hints??? I'm using my experience with C.fasciatum as my model on this species for now, praying that she isn't the cannibalistic huntress Stripz is...

Here's a shot of her and one of the male showing a good amount of green. She seems to show more color as the exoskeleton ages, as newly molted I find her very dark

Mine just molted last week, is about .75" now and has decided to burrow. From what I can tell it's a pretty good little burrow too...although next to impossible to see because it's deep inside her little hide. So I'd say, yeah, they'll burrow, or at least as slings anyway.

What do you guys think about this one?
She(?) was sold to me as 0.1 Thrixopelma pruriens and was all black (pre-molt) when I got her.
Now she molted and got all BLUE!

I also have Homoeomma sp. Peru blue and she doesn´t look like this one (differences show better live). Is this "pruriens" really Homoeomma sp. male or what?

Here´s pics:
