Good Luck with Him... I have a German Shepherd named named Thor.
BileDrunk said:Good lord! His paw is almost as big as your hand dude! Best of luck to a long happy relationship with him and be sure to post pics on teh big day. Those pics already make me really really want a dog of my own. Sadly though, it's just not the right time for me. Down the road for sure though.
Do Great Danes get their ears clipped? That one kind of has a houndish look to it with the cute floppy ears.

I know he's got such an adorable little (well not so little) face.SheWithFangs said:Awww:clap: He's cute.
Yes he will be quite the "bitches," man. get it?! What a knee slapperRobbinLara said:he's gorgeous...anyone ever tell you that you look a little like Ryan Reynolds?
Although cropping is a personal choice.. and I have seen Danes and other breeds show with natural ears, if you actually do want his ears done, and someone told you that it would cost you a grand to do it and retape the million and three times that you will need to retape, they were exaggerating by about 850 bucks!! My Danes ear cropping was included in her purchase price, HOWEVER, the vet charged the breeder about a hundred bucks to do it for her. Taping is a pain, but can easily be done at home if you take the time and have the patience to do it. I did all my retaping after the initial cutting and taping, and it took only a few minutes of my time, and it wasnt an everyday thing.. unless one of the other dogs in the house decided to give a tug on the center brace, then of course there was the replacement taping.GootySapphire said:Yeah his paws were almost half the size of my hands already haha. He's 7 weeks old and already 17.9lbs Thank you for the kind wishes and words. I will definitely post pics maybe some video clips when I pick Thor up. Do you know what kind of dog you want to get when you do get one? Great Danes that show usually get their ears cropped. But its just too expensive its almost a grand to get it cropped and retaped every time. He will look just as handsome without them being cropped ya know?

Although you dont seem to mind the natural ear in the least, and I do agree with you there, I just wanted to let you know what the real figures were in case you were considering it in any way. It never hurts to get an honest accounting of something from someone whos done it before, instead of a possible excuse for not doing it from someone who has a whole litter, since Im sure that with an average large Dane litter it would cost them that much if they were doing them all at once for the future owners.
One other horrid thing that I am going to add as a side note.. alot of Dane breeders with show puppies also have the toenails cropped at the same time. It helps to keep that nice tight "show foot". Thankfully many more wont do this because of the degree of painfulness involved.. but sadly, my pup came home with not only bloodied ears, but blooded tootsies as well. I wish I had been given the option as I would have NOT done this to her since you can still have nice short nails by consistantly cutting the nails as this will cause the quick to actually receed! Sorry.. you can tell I love my dogs.. good luck with your baby and be sure to keep posting pics.. its amazing to watch these little suckers grow up!! The Mrs.Hall

One question gooty.. what the heck is that pvc pipe with what looks like multiple wires coming out of it in the first pics background..???
My sis and her husband have a english bulldog named Maximus, one of the most hyper english bulldogs I have ever seen. But also one of the coolest dogs ever. I love English bulldogs and French ones too.BileDrunk said:Looks like some kind of air system for the fishtanks.
Yeah Gooty, it'll probably have to be an English Bulldog for me. So damn ugly they're cool...and by cool, I mean totally sweet! (Like a ninja!)
