Wow! I didn't know we had stick insects here. What was it found on? Also, do these range up North in CA(I'm down in the Central Valley).

i dont know about CA but we have them over here in IL, i usually see 1 or 2 a year

well i actually found it on my wall which made it extremely obvious.......i just put it on the plant for dramatic effect. as far as what they feed on naturally, beats the hell out of me but im sure you could feed it bramble, rose, etc...

Great find Phasmids are some of my fav. inverts as for feeding you hit the nail right on the head with Rose and Bramble mine also LOVE Big ivy leaves ( not the small english ivy) Thanks for sharing such a great find

hmmm i find several walkingsticks out here in souther ca out in the desert intresting:?

i tend to find many out in the desert as well. ill walk out at night with abright flashlight and for some reason they stand out against to foliage. i just dont see them often where i live since i dont have any trees in my yard...must have lost its way from teh neighbors yard

cool walking sticks are cool insects, if there wasnt that bann on walking sticks I bet the hobby would be bigger.
