Recently lost my A. amazonica sling and now have discovered my H. maculata sling dead :( ... It seemed fine yesterday, was running around and took down a cricket ... Checked it this morning and it was on the side of it's delicup but didn't move when I opened the lid.. That in itself was strange. It seems it may have drowned as where there were droplets of water on the side of the delicup was where the sling was. I gently removed it from the side of the cup and it's underneath was wet where the booklungs are. There was no death curl and it's legs are very stiff. It seems to have died in a relaxed position .....I don't understand it.... It's almost as though it deliberately killed itself or something grrrrrrr :wall: :wall: :wall:

Awww... WelshTan, I am so sorry. It really bites when slings die off like that. Years ago, I was so upset when I lost my gorgeous little T. blondi sling. I know how you feel. :(

Sorry to hear about the loss. You really seem to have had a run of poor luck with the little guys.

Perhaps some juveniles are the way forward?

Thanks guys.... yeah I think I will look at getting some juvi's when I have cleared more surface area for more T's and when I get my bills in order. Slings are sooo much cheaper to buy and a thrill to watch molting so often. I have lots of adults and juvi's aready. Luckily no more of my slings have died yet. (the last sentence I said with my breath held) lol. I thought it would be a long time before I had any frozen corpses in my freezer :(

ok... I think I have had enough and am going to sell all of my collection before I kill off anymore... my other pinktoe A. amazonica sling had died .. full deathcurl and unresponsive this morning ...... truly disheartening ... I think I will just stick to my guineapigs and my rats from now on ..... 38 T's I have to find new homes for now :(

Welshtan my heart goes out to you, I feel exactly the same about my collection after losing my obt yesterday :( all I can say is non of these deaths seem to be down to any fault of your own and if you have kept 30- 40 Ts sucessfully you must be doing something right so please dont loose heart *hugs*

I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through :(

Have they all died with the same symptoms? Were they all fed from the same batch of feeders?

I'm sorry for the loses coming all at once but come on don't give up because two Avic. slings have died on you, that is what they do best. As for the maculata, accidents happen, and you made it clear it was not your fault. Don't give up on us.

Don't give up yet. I've lost 3 avics (2 died, one escaped) and I've seen many, even the experienced on here lose their avics.

Maybe you need slings that start off a little bigger? :?
