If you're looking to keep only adults, you should stay away from females because they're often times pregnant. A group of males will establish a hierarchy and then be fine together. Males can be pretty loud at night when they're fighting or hissing and it'll be more obnoxious the more heating you have.

They like to have somewhere dark to chill during the day and are surprisingly good at climbing so be careful with whatever you have to cover your enclosure. They can eat apple, banana, potato, honey, and carrot. You can also give them various pet kibble as well as fish flakes, but I recall reading somewhere that you should stay away from poultry food.

Here's a forum dedicated to cockroaches that you may want to look into. https://www.roachforum.com/

I've found that they hate citrus and you should be careful of pesticides.

Mine liked leafy vegetables when I had them and I kept the substrate damp.

Huh, I've actually heard they love sweet citrus (like oranges, clementines, etc.), I would stay away from lemons and stuff though, and would probably never use citrus as their sole source of fruit, just as more of a treat.

I've heard that too, so I gave my guys some orange slices and they wiggled their antennas at it, nibbled a bit, and then turned up their noses. What they really like, though, is pawpaws. They were probably the biggest hit of all time.
