Hey all!

This is an informational thread on how to care for weird inverts. Examples: earwigs, antlions, and grasshoppers.

Once a week I will post a care guide. or you can as long as it's a care guide, or reaction, or response.

New post on Tuesday!

We want the name! So we know exactly which species you are referring to.

Example: "Grasshoppers"
Wikipedia: "The Caelifera includes some 2,400 valid genera and about 11,000 known species. Many undescribed species probably exist, especially in tropical wet forests."

They can't possibly all have the same care requirements in order to successfully breed them.

Other than that, i would be looking forward to it.

It was an example.
Yea i know, and believe me i am not trying to force binomial names on you. I noticed you ether are not comfortable with them yet or you flat out refuse to use any.

There is no shame in the first possibility and posts about a single species are ideal places to learn more about the species you are already working with, including taking a look at scientific names and distribution maps, etc.

It will help you in the long run.

Dude, chill the bug out it was a example.

Fine, if you want specifics here you go: R.Guttata, A.maritima and all species of ant lion.

Don't take it as an attack, i am really trying to help you get more involved and serious about your favourite animals. Once you become more connected you will realise the utility those names bring you. For example you could trade rare species with other enthusiasts across state lines or even abroad. If you can id the species and even have some data on were they were collected that would be incredible for anyone who might want to trade or buy captive bred Phenotypes/specific Localities of certain species.

back to the topic, i would like a hint at what animal you might describe first :) edit: thx

That is very little to go on, can we assume they are native to Florida at least?
